Your Choice
Okay, I guess it's my turn... I was thinking it would be fun for everyone to pick a church book they've been meaning to read (& for those still reading Bonds that Make Us Free, you could count finishing that!). Then we could each post our favorite quote or thought from the book we read & discuss them in the comments. I hope that doesn't seem like a copout; I really have been thinking hard about this for awhile!

I like this idea. I have a stack of books to read and I am always looking for suggestions.
I like the idea too ... A good church book is perfect this time of year (or any time of year).

Definitely a great idea. I have a book in mind too: "Finding Peace Happiness and Joy" by Richard G. Scott.
Since I'm now a homemaker with nothing to do but cook, clean and do homework, I read a few.
"No One Can Take Your Place" Sherri Dew
"The Peacegiver" don't remember...
"Fire in the Bones" S. Michael Wilcox
"Daughters of God" S. Michael Wilcox (not quite done with it, but LOVE it)
Dew's book was fine, very predictably Sherri-ish. The Peacegiver was remarkable, I'm still reeling from the things I learned there. Fire in the Bones was the story of William Tyndale and the sacrifices he made to render the first translation of the Bible into English from the original Hebrew and Greek. It was an incredible book. I want to read more martyr biographies - it makes me more grateful for the simple face that I can hold my own personal copy of the scriptures in my own language and read it wherever and whenever I want without fear. Daughters of God is a glance at many of the women in the scriptures and their stories. Bro. Wilcox brings his knowledge of their culture and language to make some fascinating insights I'd never have thought of without knowing what he knows. I love it. In fact, I love HIM! I've read every talk and almost every book he's written and I just think he's great. Mary likes him too and we both love the book/talk "When Prayers Seem Unanswered." Right, Mare? :)
