"Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home." — Anna Quindlen
"All good books are alike in that they are truer than if they had really happened and after you are finished reading one you will feel that all that happened to you and afterwards it all belongs to you: the good and the bad, the ecstasy, the remorse and - Ernest Hemmingway
It is an interesting ending, but since you know how it ends from the start I think it actually works. Reading it again I realized it isn't an easy book, but I still loved it.
WAIT FOR ME! Dang, I knew once Heather started it she'd leave me in the dust. I'm only on page 100! I must say the "Mug of Cider" chapter I just finished was so sad I almost shed tears right there on the crowded TRAX train . . . I really feel for Prue.
Uck, sci-fi?! Twilight was a bit of a stretch for me! Tell me it's worth it....also tell me there is somewhere I can get it cheap, 'cause I will never get my hands on it from the library...and I never buy books unless I've read them and love them! Especially not sci-fi!
Heather, as someone who also found Twilight difficult to stomach (I haven't even read the subsequent books) I feel your pain. I still find the concept of "Host" very unique and intriguing. I do have my reservations though, especially since Emilee and I think Mandy have both started it already, and I haven't even finished "Precious Bane" (but I'm close!!) I don't want to slow you guys down. Cost is also an issue for me too, and it's virtually impossible, I bet, to get it from the library.
I'm just borrowing the host from a friend. I won't buy any books either. I always go to the library since it is free. We could always find another book to read together. I just hope I'll get into it. I had a hard time with Precious Bane.

I think I'm the only one that didn't love it. Sorry! I did finish it. Hurray! Thanks for the experience. I'm glad I read it.
I'm halfway through! Sorry I'm so slow. . . am I out of the club? What if I agree to us reading "Host" next?
I would love it if we read the host since I'm already reading it.
