I'm almost ashamed that I'm already done...

But not as ashamed as those who were "sucked in" to read the last vampire book. :) I read the first one and Eldon teased me so mercilessly about the plot (and granted, it's not well-written) that I stopped. I think he came up and smelled me for weeks. :) But I might succumb...I have a MALE cousin who lent me his copy of the second one and insists I need to read them all. He and his wife love them! And my little sister loves them, who is definitely not a reader.

ANYWAY, "Odd Mom Out" was darling. I loved almost every page. There were a few scenes I blushed during, but other than that I thought it was a great read that made me think about my opinions on a LOT of issues. I'd be interested to know what y'all think about moms who stay home vs. moms who work outside the home, if conformity is a necessary evil, and the secret culture of girls and women. I thought a lot about all of those things ...

I hope you like it too!

Grrr. . . I'm so anxious to get this book and read it already so I can discuss all these great issues.

In the meantime, since Shell brought up the Twilight series, let me just say that I'm almost done with the second one right now (New Moon) and I'm really enjoying it (that was hard to admit). Now I know I went on a rant about how lame I thought Twilight was, but I'm really liking how the story is unfolding. I'm a huge fan of Jacob Black, he's awesome. That's all I have to say about the Twilight series.

Just finished Breaking Dawn, so I will start this book today or tomorrow if I can find it. I am so excited to discuss the working Mom issue because it is one that I have thought a lot about.

Read the vampire books. Accept that they are a little corny and written for teenage girls so it isn't great literature. But they are so fun to read.

I would just like to say that I own all four of the Twilight series, and I'm not ashamed of it! Okay...maybe a little ashamed of it....
But like Mand said, accept them for what they are, and you'll enjoy the fluff of a read. Everybody needs that type of book every now and then!
